, and for plenty of good reasons! This venue is the perfect avenue by which you can encounter some of Aurora's natural beauty. The Morrison Nature Center is located on Star K Ranch, which is over 200 acres and is part of the Sand Creek Regional Greenway. This Greenway is a 14-mile trail system that connects Aurora to Denver and Commerce City, and that long stretch of nature offers plenty of excellent opportunities to see some of the area's most amazing wildlife in its natural habitat.

Aurora's Great Plains Park
is great in so many ways. Visitors can enjoy several outdoor activities like splashing around in the water feature area, watching the kids play on the jungle-gym or running around and playing a game of catch on the spacious open fields. High Line Canal Trail
is Aurora's 66-mile trail that enters the city at Havana Street and Exposition Avenue and goes on to Colfax Avenue and Tower Road where it ends. In between, nature lovers and fitness enthusiasts walk or jog along this popular outdoor trek that is most easily accessed through Expo Park, Highline Park, DeLaney Farm and Norfolk Glen Park. Don't be surprised to see some horses on this trail, as the animals are welcome on the trail as well.
Aurora's Sand Creek Regional Greenway
prides itself as offering wilderness in the city. That claim is definitely true, as the 14-mile trail connects the High Line Canal in Aurora to the South Platte River Greenway in Commerce City. Along the way, it passes through Denver as well as the newly formed Stapleton community. The trail is a favorite of walkers, outdoor recreation enthusiasts, nature lovers, horseback riders, and dog lovers who are highly encouraged to have their pets on a leash when they visit.

. It's a great way for your dog to get some fresh air and exercise at this 5-acre park that offers plenty of "off-leash" fun. There is even a separate section for smaller dogs, a fun agility course and lots of shady areas for you to rest for awhile with your four-legged friend.
