Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche relocated to Denver from Quebec in 1995 and the sports team has given hockey fans much to get excited about ever since. The Avalanche has won the Stanley Cup twice, in 1995-1996 and 2000-2001 seasons. Fans line up every season to catch the high-speed action on the ice as the Avalanche players work together to skillfully move the puck through the goal time and time again. Cherry Creek Spillway
Aurora hikers hold the Cherry Creek Spillway in high regard as it is the main connecting trail between the Toll Gate system and Cherry Creek State Park and Greenway. Hikers can access this recreation trail from the east from Chambers Road at Yale Avenue. The west access point is the Parker Road underpass for Hampden Drive.

High Line Canal
The High Line Canal trail is rather lengthy at 67 miles, but it offers an incredible variety of different scenery that will make your hike even more invigorating. This trek is part of a much larger trail system owned and operated by Denver Water. Access to the recreation trail can be found at Expo Park, Highline Park, Aurora Municipal Center, DeLaney Farm, and Norfolk Glen Park. Runners and walkers beware, as the trail allows horses in the High Line Canal area.

Westerly Creek
For a more manageable recreation trail, walkers and runners opt for the inviting 3.5 mile Westerly Creek. The trail travels north to south, and it connects Cherry Creek State Park with the High Line Canal at Expo Park. Access and parking to the trail are conveniently found at Expo Park and Utah Park.

Aurora Reservoir
The Aurora Reservoir is a 31,650 acre reservoir located in the far southeastern reach of Aurora. In addition to offering drinking water to the city of Aurora, it is also a water sports recreation area that features a small swim beach open seasonally, a boat dock, a rental equipment shack, a jogging and biking trail, and a designated diving area. Only electric boats are allowed for anglers who want to light out into the central part of the reservoir. Scuba divers also enjoy taking the plunge here, too.

Marfell Lakes
Marfell Lakes are reservoirs in Boulder County near Lafayette-Louisville. It is a popular place for watersports, boating and family outings. This is also a great place for fishing, swimming and other recreation during the warmer months of the year.
